Track By Track
Track 1: “Gucci” – I would love to be buried in Gucci everything after listening to this song. There was a snippet of this song used in the teaser video for Qveen Herby, and the rest of the song doesn’t disappoint in the least bit. I’m definitely going to listen to this song again, and it’ll only get better once I know the song more. There’s nothing I can think of that can make this track better. (Grade: 10/10)
Track 2: “Busta Rhymes” – Personally, I’m always amazed by how Amy can rap as fast as she can and still make sense of her words without them running together. This song shows off that perfectly. The semi-chill beat only serves to highlight how speedy and energetic she can get when she wants. I’m gonna try and learn the words to keep up with the song, but nobody can really do it like she can. If you missed her rapping, this is the perfect song for you. Plus, the video is pretty good, too. (Grade: 10/10)
Track 3: “Zombie” – The beats of the previous two tracks tended to let the lyrics shine, but the beat keeps right up with the song. She sings of herself being a ‘zombie,’ not taking any crap, and knowing exactly what she wants. Continue at your own risk. I love the lyrics, but I kind of wish Amy did one of the chorus repeats in her natural voice. That would’ve been a nice touch to throw in. (Grade: 9.5/10)
Track 4: “Wild” – This song isn’t about ‘liquid courage.’ It’s far more about ‘liquid enhancer.’ Amy’s fairly straightforward with what she’s saying and what she means. She’s had her drinks, and she’s ready to get ‘wild’ with her chosen man of the night. She even calls out said man’s new girlfriend and calls her fake. It’s bold word choice, and it fits right in with the rest of the album. I could picture what she was saying the whole way through. (Grade: 9.5/10)
Track 5: “Til We Get By” – Continuing off the vibes of ‘I Got You,’ this track continues the sentiments of being there and supportive of your partner. No matter what happens, you’ll be there for them and help them through until they get to where they’re going. I love messages like this, and it only serves to make the song even better than it already is. I don’t have anything negative to say about it. (Grade: 10/10)
Final Grade: 9.8 / A+ (I wasn’t worried at all about this new musical venture for Amy and Nick. Whatever they do, they put their all into it. This project is no different and is treated with the same level of care and attention that they’ve come to be known for at this point. I can’t say enough good things about this EP. I’ll most certainly have it replaying again and again. If you don’t have it, hurry up and get it.)
